Well, sisters, we've just about finished our time at International Convention. So much fun has been had!
I'm actually glad its been sort of rainy so that I'm not missing being in the sun. Its made my choice of visiting with sisters all that more easy!
We have finished our business sessions and I'm proud to say that our Fraternity is taking a bold new step in the world of Governance Boards. After much discussion this is what our council felt was best for us. We will have to trust in our leaders, help, and support them all during this next biennium while they start this new journey.
I've seen many old friends - many of you may remember Judy F. and her beautiful daughter Laura. Laura as you may know is also now an AOII and was here at IC to serve as a page during business sessions for our very own Linda G!
Illinois was very well represented with all of our collegiate chapters in attendance and 8 of our 9 Alumnae chapters having a representative. I'm also proud to say that our very own Lake County of IL earned a Ruby level Standard of Excellence (SOE)!
Funny story, as they started listing the chapters who earned the Ruby level (6 from IL!) They read all the Chicago ones and the presenter stopped and said to everyone at the Awards Banquet - boy I wish I lived in the Chicago Area, I've seen what all of those chapters plan and now seeing how great all of the chapters are, I want to join! Boy is that saying something!
Well, I've saved the best for last - I'm also so very proud to announce to you all that Linda G has been elected as a Vice President of our new Governance Style Board! Congratulations Linda, we couldn't be more proud to call you our sister!
I'm off to get ready for Rose Banquet, we'll see you all soon!

International Convention time already?
One week from tonight hundreds of AOII sisters will be gathering in Tampa Florida for the start of the 2009 International Convention (IC). It is my hope to blog at least a few times while in Tampa to keep you all up to date on what's happening at IC. Check back often to see what's going on......
